Do you have any ideas why it takes so long on "Resuming Windows" Screen from turning it on from Hibernation in Windows 7.
It only happens when i put a 512MB Graphics card. But it was quickly when the original 64MB SiS graphics card was inserted.
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have the latest ATi Catalyst drivers?

Yes isn't it version 10.7? The latest one? I downloaded both of them from the AMD Website the Display drivers only and the Catalyst suite, should i install the Catalyst suite?

Go backwards to the Cat. 10.4! Several have reported problems with the last few versions as of late. You can see them on the the latest ATI Catalyst Driver thread. http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/1810-latest-ati-catalyst-driver-windows-7-a.html

Pay attention to the last few pages in particular from the 10.5, 10.6, and now 10.7 release.

Since you have the latest version on and are seeing problems(like coming out of hibernation) or simply want to keep it onhand in case you do later it won't hurt! Better being safe then sorry later?!

I keep some older Cat.s stored here in case of any need like running into an older video card where the latest simply wasn't written for them. It can help when one or two catalysts see problems too by having a folder for keeping 3-4 of them onhand known to be good.

Presently I run a Radeon 5750 and run into OpenGL problems with some old game titles while others have the complaints seen on the driver thread there. Other then that one problem the latest three went on without problems here.

Another thing that may you help you there is seeing to a full system restart when first coming out of hiberation. Often from the inactivity the drivers become inactive and simply won't wake up! The full restart will refresh all device drivers automatically just as if you had simply shut everything down for the night.

For extended sleep periods that can also be a help there too. I couldn't find the 10.7b version unless AMD swapped the first 10.7 release without the "b" letter added.

Well I had a similar thing when I went from my GTS 8800 512 to a better ATI card. My 8800 performance was far better than the ATI. I eventually went back to NVIDIA problem solved

Yet at the same time people ran right smack into problems with NVidia updates for their 8800s and 9800s. It was simply ATI's turn at having a few problematic updates while each months turns over a new Cat. version.

I submitted some feedback on what people were running into following the 10.4 release for them to look into.

Another thing to consider besides the drivers or card itself would be checking out a few other items like seeing what the settings are in the bios as well as reseating the card after a good cleaning if you haven't blasted the case out with a can or air cleaner lately. Dust and dirt built up in the slot doesn't help.
