Solved Is this PC a good build?

Someone who did nothing but game might well prefer a standard hard drive and a $300 video card than an SSD and a $230 video card. And maybe a $140 CPU rather than a $190 CPU if it meant a better video card could be bought with the saved money.

An SSD is noticeable mostly when you boot and open applications. For other stuff, it's nice, but not a night and day difference from an HDD.

All that is stuff you have to sort out with your father and uncle.

You've got $70 worth of headphones, mice, and keyboards that can likely be reduced if necessary.

I see you got rid of the SSD and have gone with a GTX 960 2 GB video card.

And you moved down to an i3-4150.

Rather than an i5-4590 and a GeForce GT 630 video card.

I'll leave it to gamers to tell you if that was wise.

People will try to tell you that the Green drives are slow. I can tell you that they are faster than a "fast" 7200 rpm drive from say the 2011 era. Others will tell you they aren't reliable. Well, you can find horror stories on every hard drive.

Do you need 2 TB of new storage? If not, look at the 1 TB WD blue series, for about $55.

GeForce says this about that card:

GeForce GTX 960 | Specifications | GeForce

120 W Graphics Card Power (W)
400 W Minimum Recommended System Power (W)

So, if you are going with that card, you could probably go with a 450 watt PSU.

I don't know how well that video card/CPU combination will play your chosen games.

Well, 1TB is enough thats for sure. I'll be waiting for responses about my choice. Devlin said i cant run Advanced Warfare on it so thats a shame. I would love an i5 but thinking about the videocard i must cut off some money.

In terms of budget, getting an AMD card will cut your budget down, you can get a 3GB 280X a lot cheaper than gtx960, could also get a top end AMD CPU cheaper than intel as well, i3 i wouldn't recommend for high end gaming due to it only being a dual core, where as most games are now having quad cores as minimum requirements. Il spec a build for you for your budget and see what i can come up with.

Thanks, ill be waiting for responses.

EDIT: Okay now i have really pimped the computer up, i have upgraded the motherboard, CPU + Video card. There is an notice down bottom that says:
Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs.
Does my BIOS need a update or is it one of the other who dosen't need one to run the CPU?

$1090 for the stuff in post #54?

Is that right?

Liquid cooling? Why?

You're paying Cyberpower to build this for you. I gotta believe for $1090 you can do better than that building it yourself and wouldn't have to put up with Cyberpower limited parts choices.

So $1090 is your budget?

If you want someone to build it for you, look at ecollegepc.com. They appear to have a good reputation for parts and customer service.

I'd still build it myself if I wanted to spend $1090. If the budget was $600, probably not.
