You might gain some by getting a dedicated GPU. Most low end GPUs today can run it on your resolution. It might not work on the onboard graphics you have now.

without a dedicated graphics card,he simply cant run it in playable FPS at any resolution. I had an i3 2100 with Asrock Extreme 3 gen 3 motherboard and i couldnt get more then 10fps. I will be surprised if he can start the game!!

Nope you need more ram atleast another 2 and get a low end GPU then you can play most of anything

It will run but at around 14-17fps, that's how it ran on a machine with a pentium 4 and intel graphics with 1gb of ram. Proably run about the same for you,20fps tops. with everything low and the lowest resolution. A 60$ card should have no problems running with all settings up though.

It can play GTA_SA no worries. BUT you'll probably experience MASSIVE STUTTERING and pretty much just horrible gameplay all the way. Unless you have a blind eye for graphics, pick up a decent GPU and put it in, then you'll be able to play it at a MUCH BETTER quality

Pretty much what this guy said. Onboard graphics cards generally are made only for school/work. Not really good for gaming, even the older games. Onboard cards generally don't have the power/resources for things that heavy.

I once ran GTA III on:

512 MB DDR (approximately 133 MHz, single channel mode)
ATI Radeon Xpress 200 series (integrated graphics, 128 MB)
AMD Athlon @ 1.99 GHz (single core)

...and it ran ok. I don't know how much more resources GTA:SA would take, but based on this I think you should be fine running it. If you want to be sure you can check around for a demo version and try that first. If it ends up not running well, a dedicated video card would almost certainly fix that issue.

Without upgrading your video card, you will likely need to run on low graphics settings, too.

Lol. Get a decent graphics card mate Maybe one of the Nvidia 6 series cards.

getting a used GPU like 9600GT is a good idea that'll save you money and will play GTA:SA smoothly trust me i put a 8600GT 512MB DDR2 in my brother's PC for just 20 bucks lol with box, cables, dvi connector everything and he's very pleased with it as it has improved his video performance, aero theme and able to play platformers and some other old titles nicely.
