Issues connecting to \\servername

When I try to connect to \\servername to see the available shares.....I get permission error 53 the network path not found.

If I do \\servername\folder1 - I can successfully view the folder.

Not sure why? Anyone can shed some light?

try to connect from a different computer to \\servername. If you get the same error, it may be a security setting on the \\servername computer. If you DON'T get an error from the other pc/laptop...check your pc/laptop for viruses or even changes viruses COULD have made to your permissions..
