Issues w/ "Documents" in Libraries - New install, Win7 Home Prem. x64
Hi guys - just doing a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium x64 on my bro's new system. He had been running WinXP until now, so it is time for an upgrade!
I've run into an issue though - under Libraries, and then under Documents, the default My Pictures, My Videos, and My Music folders are saying "Access Denied" when I try to access them, and I don't understand why...? This is where my brother will be putting all of his photos, videos, and music so I would love to have access...
All I see when I look in the "Documents" folder are the My Videos, My Music, and My Pictures folders with lock icons - These apparently link to the folders in "C:/Users/Public/Documents" and give me "Access Denied" error messages when opened. I also see 3 shortcuts with the same names as those folders mentioned above that all also give the "Access Denied" error, but link to "C:/Users/~My Brother's Username Here~/Documents".
I have no such shortcuts on my personal Win7 Ultimate machine and all the My Pictures/My Videos/My Music folders look and work normally - but they do seem to access my user's documents, not the Public folder on my machine. As mentioned, THIS machine of my brother's has a fresh install of Win7, so nothing has been changed that should prevent access?
His user account is set up as the only account on the system, and also as an administrator, so I'm not sure what the problem is?
