Has anyone had issues with the Sapphire HD 7750 ultimate?
Since installing a week ago I am getting small malfunctions with this card. These are

1. Occasional jumping / glitching of web pages inside IE9. A very fast twitching effect of the whole page.
2. On one occasion, a web page only refreshed to half way down so I could only see the top half of it. Re-starting the tab cured it.
3. When viewing a photo, if I alternate between full screen and a smaller size, the control bar at the bottom of photo viewer becomes corrupted with the buttons often disappearing. If I wait 30 seconds then snap to full again the problem normally fixes.
4. Yesterday about 6 or 8 red blocks appeared, around the bottom task bar. Each was about the size of a task bar icon, they would not disappear until I unlocked the task bar and moved it around a bit.

My install process was as follows:
Shut down and remove old card (HD 4350).
Install HD 7750.
Reboot.
Install Catalyst 12.3 driver set from the CD which came with the card.
Check for updates to catalyst, download 12.4 and install that version.

Perhaps I should have uninstalled the previous drivers for the old card first. I had assumed it would be OK with both cards being AMD.
I do not believe there is any issue with temperature, the issues are present even at a cold startup and my GPU temperature has never been above 48 deg, is is normally around 40 in general use.
I am tempted to RMA now unless someone else has seen this and can say it is drivers?

Shut down and remove old card (HD 4350).
Install HD 7750.
Reboot.
Install Catalyst 12.3

I'm guessing you never uninstalled the old card's driver, before you installed the new one?

Anyway, let's try something before you RMA the card:

Uninstall the complete AMD driver package for the card. Make sure there's no trace of it before you shutdown the PC.

Remove the card from the slot, give it a good cleaning, re-seat it and check the power connections.

Turn on your PC and install Catalyst 12.4, now restart your PC.

Check for previous symptoms...

I will also go with removing the old drivers. Use "driver sweeper" to do this for you.

You can download it from this link.

Thanks for your suggestions guys, I will try a clean re-install of drivers as soon as I can. The blinking effect in the browser especially is quite distracting now.

Also found this entry in windows action center from yesterday...

OK so I just uninstalled all catalyst software, rebooted, then uninstalled the graphics card completely from device manager. Shut down PC, checked the card was physically OK - it is. Started up again, installed catalyst 12.4.

No change. Still corruption in photo viewer and blinking internet explorer. Have noticed that if I turn off aero and use windows basic or windows classic themes I do NOT get these issues. Not sure if that tells me anything, I'm guessing the basic themes don't use the graphics card for such tasks?

I am planning a fresh re-install of windows to an SSD soon so will try my luck with that. If it's still the same I think I'll have to go back to my old card and see if I can RMA this one. It may or may not be faulty but for sure it doesn't work 100% in my setup.

Did you use driver sweeper in safe mode? Boot into safe mode and run driver sweeper for AMD Display drivers. Check that check box and click analyze. Then clean. reboot, then install the CCC. You may even try, after running driver sweeper in safe mode start the installation of CCC. The first screen will usually say install or uninstall, try uninstall first then reboot, then install. 2 instances of CCC will cause all kinds of problems and it sounds as though you have 2 different drivers. They are difficult to get rid of.

Thanks for all your suggestions, but I've now installed a brand new SSD so forget everything that went before.

I installed windows 7 64-bit to a blank SSD then put on catalyst 12.3. As I expected really, the card behaves just the same, glitching and photo viewer corruption. Still don't know if it is the card hardware or not. I might try one or two more things but I haven't the time or patience to spend weeks trying to find some obscure incompatibility between this card and my CPU / BIOS / chipset / memory / catalyst driver or whatever it is. I'll be putting my old card back in quite soon I think.

Did you resolve your problem?

I've recently built a computer and put a regular Sapphire HD 7750 in it. I've been getting regular BSODs (and occasional AMD driver error messages) since I built the computer. I don't know that it's definitely the video card that is the problem but have taken it out to see if the computer is stable.

Hi Richard, no I did not resolve the problem. You may have a different issue though becuase I never got BSOD or driver errors. I tried everything I could including motherboard BIOS updates and every driver available but nothing would make it stable. I returned it in the end.

This card is very frustrating, it seems to be by far the best budget card especially passively cooled but is very buggy at least for you and I.

Thanks the update. I'm not actually sure if it is the card that is the problem. However, I've taken it out now and all seems to be fine. So it's definitely the prime suspect.

Hope your new card is better.

Its simple.. Just scan with antivirus.. If nt works then go for a format after backing up your data..

I had random freezes with 7750. Catalyst 12.8 improved things a lot. I can't belive that these new products are rushed to be released so much to the point that you believe you have a broken card.

It turned out that my problem was the PSU and not the card. I've upgraded the PSU and have not had any problems since.
