Sorry if this is inappropriate for this forum but I've looked everywhere and the best info is always here. I wanted to upgrade my java installation to the newest version so I uninstalled the one I had. Something happened during uninstall (not sure what of course). Now I run the installer for the newest and I get a message that says it can not install because it's already there, "do you want to overwrite it" (or something close to that). So I click <yes>. At this point I get a message saying I can not overwrite because it's not there and goes into an infinite loop. I've looked for a fix for a few days and there is no help that I can find. I found a place "pchelper360.com" that has a "fixer" but I'm a bit leery. I just don't trust a fixer that comes from a site that mimics a Microsoft help page. Any ideas, comments or rants are welcome.
Tnx,
Dusty

I would perform a system restore to a restore point before uninstalling JAVA.

Then just install the latest version without uninstalling the current version.

Remove Java entirely then install

Hi,

Here's a suggestion and it's worked for me. You can remove all current and previous Java installations before installing the latest version. Here's how:

Download JavaRa

Instuctions on how to use

Once Java is fully removed - reboot. Then install the latest version.
