Joystick axis for Halo ce

I tried to set up my joystick for Halo ce, but for the control stick that controls your character, it doesn't let me go up or down. It only lets me go left and right. The joystick controller is a Powerwave PC game controller. Can anyone help? And also the camera stick that controls the camera can only go left and right too. CAn anyone help me!!!????

1.Does the joystick comes with driver cd.if it is.try installing it. If not,try downloading it from related brand of your joystick
2.check the button assign ingame of Halo

Yeah it came with a driver disc and I installed it, and when I am assigning the buttons, it won't let me do up or down, only left and right.

OKAY!! I have found out what was wrong. There was a button on the back that says analog. I AM SO STUPID!!!
