I've been trying to figure this out and have read all about adjusting my touch pad sensitivity etc but that does not seem to work. Strangely, it happens only when I type a Y. Middle of a word, end of a word where ever there's a Y.

Anyone else have a similar problem?

I'm beginning to think it's a Windows 7 issue and not a touch pad issue.

Hi Jbatl, I have seen this behaviour before and it is almost definately related to touchpad. (Notice position of the Y key is directly above the touchpad and easily gets touched by your wrist).

To check if this is the issue, disable / turn off the touchpad - it should be an option in the (Synaptics or whatever) touchpad settings.

I was fortunate enough to have an option in my settings to disable the touchpad while typing. Solved my problem.

Hopefully that will fix things for you.
