Just Cause 2 Directx Error

Help,
Whenever I try to play Just Cause 2 on my Laptop it comes up with a black screen, then a white screen, then it exits to desktop and a Directx error comes up.

Fatal Directx error!
Code:15
Result: 0x80070057: E_INVALIDARG

The game will now exit. Try restarting the game with /failsafe if the problem persist.

Hi, welcome to the forums

I'd advise you download the latest DirectX drivers from Microsoft Download Center. It will install both old and new drivers and has been known to solve several DX issues.

Thanks but downloading the drivers didn't do anything.

You may want to read the following...

I deleted the HDD content of the game via Steam (right click on it and delete game)
and afterwards installed it without the disc, just only via steam.
Restart afterwards... and see.. now it runs...
Dont ask me why... i really got no idea... it was the same for me with Metro 2033.
Both games installed a driver after installing from CD and never really worked then.
After installing from steam without a cd they work fine.
Anyhow... maybe you wanna try this way...

You could also try downloading the latest drivers for your GPU and reinstalling Just Cause 2,
