Solved Just finished my first gaming rig

Okay, so I just finished building my first gaming rig. All brand new parts except hard drive. So I was surprised to see that the MSI motherboard that I put in there actually let my hard drive load up to windows that I had on my previous gateway computer. I was under the impression I would have to do a fresh windows install. It let me download drivers to the mother board/gpu/cpu ect. However I noticed that the old Intel Motherboard stuff was still installed in the add/remove area. Is it okay to uninstall all that or is it going to mess my system up? ( obviously i know if it messes my system up i will just have to do a fresh install of windows on a reformatted drive ) but since it let me get this far now I am just kinda hoping I wont have to.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
The prior install may work now but could cause trouble later because it's on a different mother board than the original,
How long only time will tell,
OEM's are not transferable to other machines that's why they are so much cheaper compared with retail copies
OEM/ System builders 99.us
Retail = 3-400.us
A new OEM is required for another machine.

Did you even buy windows yet for the new rig ?

Yea I'm surprised too but not that much really it's just reading the disk

It may puke later on without notice
It may have already left garbage on the mobo because that is what oem/ system builders versions do.
