Just got a new computer

Hi there,

I just bought a new computer.. how can I start installing windows 7? I'm totally new with BIOS and all that stuff, but I know how to install graphic card drivers.

yes I got the DVD, its x64

you can start installing by putting the dvd in the tray and booting from it. when the setup screen comes up click install. follow directions as you go along.

If it wont boot from the disk, check the BIOS and make sure the first boot device is CD Drive, most new computers don't have CD drive set as first boot device.

Well, we can help you sort that out after uve installed W7, not much use discussing drivers without and operating system!

Just curious, what type of drivers would most likely be needed? Besides graphics card.

No, its ok, the worst way to help a newbie is by yelling at them, you should ask more questions, so we can help you better.

OK, driver you will need, will be any hardware you intend to connect, or is internally connected, DVD/CD drives, Sound cards, webcams, printers and scanners etc.

You can get these off the manufacturers website, they may not have support for W7, so try the Vista x64 ones, they usually, but not always work.

Uhmm, no, you shouldn't really, should all be cope for settings.

jstar, Win7 does a very good job loading drivers for most of the "regular" hardware out there. Just let it install and update any needed drivers. If you then have any problems we will be happy to help
