Just picked up a 560ti yesterday from local best buy yes they overcharge but I had $100 off and I was looking to replace my ati 4890 (seems this was a good upgrade??) anyway what I am trying to accomplish I'm not sure that I can even is have my games / movies displayed to my TV about 30 feet away.

I bought a DVI-HDMI adapter as well and I am able to setup the TV as a secondary display but I mot not easily able to force games / sound to the HDMI output.

I was wondering if anyone knows a way to right click an app or some eaqsy way to force program X and sound to go to the HDMI display at will??

Was hoping for some kind of Nvidia tool right click an app and say send to (tv) and it would forward the image and sound to that display... And has something similar to this but I can not find an Nvidia equal as they didn't install with my drivers.

Thanks in advance and I hope someone can help me!

For movies it should just be a matter of opening the media player and moving it to the TV, then after closing it should open on that screen from then on.

For games not as simple. Unless you are playing the games in windowed mode then the above won't work as most games will only play on the primary display when in full screen mode. Will be a bit of a pain as it will re-arrange any desktop icons most likely, but the easiest way would be to make the TV the primary when playing games.

Easiest way would be to just make the TV primary when you want something on it. Just go in to the "Setup multiple display" section in the Nvidia Control Panel and right click on the TV in the display configuration and set it is primary.

I may be wrong, but if I understand what I've read, the difference between DVI and HDMI is that DVI doesn't transmit sound. It's my understanding that if you want sound you'll have to go straight HDMI to the TV.

That new card doesn't have a HDMI port on it?
I have a GTS450 that has a HDMI port and the Nvidia drivers install HD audio drivers I suspect just for that reason, to give sound out the HDMI port.

Dorfdad,
If your port on the graphics card is DVI, a DVI to HDMI adapter will not transmit audio.
You'll need an HDMI port on the graphics card to transmit audio.
