Kaspersky Internet Security 2017.win7 home,4GB RAM

Late last year I purchased Kaspersky Internet Security 2017. Is this application supported on Windows 7? I only have 4GB of RAM and I am fearful that even if it is supported that it will slow the system to a crawl. Thank you.

According to their system requirements your system is well within the minimum specifications for running it. It supports at least Windows XP SP3 and requires 1GB RAM for x86 or 2GB for x64, so it will run on your system.

Also note that Kaspersky has a long standing "fame" for consuming lots of system resources and slowing down computers, so be prepared for it if it happens. No idea if that still holds in their 2017 version, but earlier it was almost always that some slowdown happened.

1. I would go for Bit defender. The latest report puts Bit defender no.1 & Kaspersky no.2.
2. If you already have an antivirus/security app, Just uninstalling it may not be enough. Instead, go for dedicated removal tool. Every good security software company provides dedicated removal tool !
3. Always avoid running multiple security softwares. They are more of a danger than secure.
4. I maintain 'Paid Antivirus' + 'Windows Firewall'
5. As for Kaspersky, i always disable 'Advanced Disinfection Technology' But its still heavy.
6. Kaspersky, Bit Defender and many other good service providers offer free 30 day trials for their security suites.

7. A little hard work will get you official links for full offline installers for your region. Its always preferable to go for that. The above links are web installers.
8. If one updates windows & other softwares regularly, even the free Bitdefender + Windows Firewall is good. But if you do too much of internet stuff with online banking,shopping, etc go for a paid one.
