I just downloaded 18 Win.7 64 bit updates, but KB2952664 won't instal

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data
If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Lots of posts about this issue around the 'net. Latest is that MS fixed it so it should install.
I hid it the first time it was offered. Will do it again as I have no plans to upgrade this OS any time soon.

KB2952664 does not appear in my list of uninstall progs. Comment on the internet suggests that this means that the update didn't start to install in the first place so I don't know how I remove it. My computer took over 10 minutes to start up this morning so assume that this had something to do with this update.

I now see that in "Uninstall a program" there are several new updates dated 17.10.14 including KB2952664. The odd thing is that none of these updates dated 17.10.14 appear in "Review your update history". How can this be? Can anyone explain what is going on here please?

KB2952664 is a compatibility update - and ONLY needed if you're planning on upgrading to Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10.
Otherwise it can be ignored and hidden.
It's possible that the other updates appear elsewhere in the History - depending on how often you reboot your machine - since the install date that shows in one screen may not be the same as that showing in another, since they may take their data from different records.

Many thanks -that's it. The "Uninstall" options of 17th October relate to some of the installed updates of 16th October. (How confusing). This includes the failed KB2952664 that I have now uninstalled and re-installed successfully.
