My older machine running win7 sp1 64 bit started crashing or should I say resetting. I went back to known good restore point and seemingly fixed. Next day same again. For no apparent reason machine resets.
No virus ,no malware, ran burn-in memory tests and hardware stress tests but all passed.
Ran the sfc/scannow and identified corrupt file, I googled file name and came up with KB3022345.
Uninstalled KB3022345 and PC seemingly back to normal, no crashes no hiccups.
This morning Auto updates installed KB3068708 and you guessed it, machine reset again.
Googled the KB and found it is a re-re-release of KB3022345.
Has anyone else had this problem and is this KB necessary for the release of Win10?
{edit} Sorry guys I've done a search on win8 forum and found the same problem has affected others. Apparently it's a precursor to Win10 and is an optional update. The 2 KBs are the same just renumbered.
What a useless KB does nobody check these before release?
