The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\HPQ6000\3&21436425&0.

Try this:
> Right click Computer->Manage->Services and Apps->Services.
> Scroll down to Windows Driver Foundation. Right click Properties. Use the pull down menu to set Startup Type to Automatic
> Reboot

Does the problem still occur? WUDFRd is part of the WinDriver Foundation service. By default, this service is set to Manual - meaning the service should start on demand. But seems many cases where it can't start on demand (hence the error). Setting Startup Type= Automatic will have Windows start the service when the system starts so it's running. This fix seems to solve the problem for many

Have you seen any problem or a device not working when this message occurs? Some MS posts say the error message may be due to a race condition. WUDFRd may still get started on retry.

Look at Services again
  • Scroll back to Windows Driver Foundation
  • Since we set StartupType to Automatic, verify the status column for the service says Started
Next we'll check driver states. Download Serviwin. Unzip the file. Right click Serviwin.exe and run as admin

Click View->Drivers. Scroll down to see WudfPf and WUDFRd
  • WudfPf status should be Started
  • If WUDFRd status is also Started, then all's OK. The driver was started on retry
If WUDFRd status is Stopped (as the case in my snapshot below), right click, set Startup type to Automatic. Reboot.

Also you should try to Uninstall the Software to see if that helps ...

If so then Re-Install ...

This may sound like a really dumb question, but are you having a problem? I get this same event logged several times a week but have no symptoms other than the logged event record. It refers to a NAS drive. I saw somewhere on the web that the load of the driver is tried again when it fails. If the retry succeeds you won't notice any problem.

I have not seen an explanation of why the initial load fails.
