Pretty sure you can install win7 and get everything important to work - the graphics drivers might be a challenge for the comet lake cpu.

We can try the coffee lake drivers from biostar and add in the ids, it might work.

You will need a win7 license key for whatever edition you want to install, of course.

Okay , i have a Windows 7 ultimate DVD , i bought it years ago , so yeah i have a key .


Why would it be a challenge to have 10th gen graphic drivers? why do you chose 8Th gen instead?

OMG mate, I owe you! I downloaded the driver you proposed, and after adding the line

%iKBLULTGT2R%    = iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3EA0

in the W7 section in the .inf file, I ran the installer, and indeed the card was successfully identified and installed. And after the reboot, like a miracle, Aero got enabled, and the resolution went to 1920x1080.

i'm downloading rn the biostar driver you gave , right ?

No. That is the line he added using the id for his ( whiskylake ) machine. The id for yours will be different. Can't guarantee it will work, but is worth a try.

No point in doing it now. cant install that into winpe.

You need to install win7 first , then test out the graphics drivers.

To install win7 on your machine, you need to include some updates and drivers for nvme and usb3 into the installation media.

Then you can fiddle with graphics afterwards.

So now , i can exit this winpe environment , and boot to my normal Disk , right ?
The process to install win 7 will be a dual boot i guess , will try to find a thread on this here .

Hello SIW2. Thanks I will try it but I have to say that I did follow a lot things to add these USB3 drivers.

I do add USB drivers to boot.wim and install. wim like a lot of tutos is suggesting with WIN 7 CREATION Tool or even by command prompt ( creating folders and adding manually the drivers to install.wim) but it resulted to the same problem ( keyb and mouse locked)

Maybe all these great USB drivers are not compatible with my Motherboard or something...

And Btw, what's more strange is that I got 4 USB3.0 ports along with 2Usb2.0. I don't know why I have problems. It's not like NUC coming only with USB3.0.

Anyway will try your update.

Ok now , i've downloaded your update 7UPv57

i put in the folder , UpdatePack7R2-21.1.15.EXe

i also downloaded dotNetFX48 ....X64.WA

I downloaded large pack of drivers ( 7UPDRIVERS.7z) and i put it in the BIN FOLDER as you wanted .

Before running 7Updaterv57.cmd , what should i do for the drivers we downloaded this night?
(remember it was something for Coffee lake if i'm correct and you want me to try to instll it for my Comet Lake ) >> win7_8TH_i3_i5_driver 2.0 .rar

I tried to install the updates .


I opened (admninistrato rights) the file 7updaterv57.cmd


it exported in folders some drivers .


then he asked me the win7 Media . In my case , it's DISK G: (USB STICK)


then i got a screen and he asked me to hit a key , then closed without doing anything more :huh:

RT click usb and select copy. Then rt click your hd and select paste.

Preferably the path should not have spaces. folder name win764usb is better than winspace7space64usb

Just a question , after selecting the Image Number ( 4 for Windows 7 Ultimate), it says

dont worry about it. It you are using simplix, then some updates that are in the folders are not needed and are moved. Depends what you are doing and which updates I have included already in the folders - varies a bit depending on the version and whatever MS has done this week..

Okay , Operation done ! .


I assume i should copy back all the WIN 7 64 folder i created (i.e C:WIN 7 64) to my USB STICK .
Copy all the folders and files , verify that the USB DISK is empty , and paste?

PS : I didn't have the message in the blue window saying that my INSTALL.WIM file is bigger than Fat32 .
But when i check the size , its like 4.41 Gb .


Anyway , it's not a problem , if i use RUFUS , i will just select NTFS and disable secure boot


Usb key done , will reboot and SEE IF THE KEYBOARD or MOUSE are detected .

Should i try USB2.0 ports or USB3.0 ?

I've looked into the .inf file and saw different numbers linked to different systems

(Win 7 , 8 , 10) . So i understand now what the guy that you helped did , adding his line .


I could do the same and add a line (last line from the WIN 7 Section in the INF file) .


But i don't know much about the numbers .


i.e for UHD 620 , the guy added the line :
%iKBLULTGT2R% = iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3EA0


for myself , i suppose i should add : % (number) % = iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9BC4

And maybe , there are others numbers to replace? I will wait

The best solution for win7 on 9&10 gen intel cpu is to use a separate grahics card which has win7 drivers.

You can try modding the biostar drivers, they are hd630 and also can be made to work for uhd620. I don't know if they can work for uhd630 on 10th gen. You can try.

You could also take a look at win raid froum and see if they have a successful mod already.

If you are going to try modding drivers, might be sensible to make an image of the os first.


You posted that yours is 9BC4 , so you could also try this driver when he has finished it and see if it works

3. Boot in with disabled driver signature enforcement or enable test mode.

i opened the .inf file igdkmd64 and find a section : Windows 7 install - Dt Only
There are several lines with %ISKLULTGT1% %ISKLULTGT2% etc
Here for example >> need driver for intel uhd620 the guy added the line

I found that %IKBLULTGT2R% belongs to UHD 620. Mine is just UHD .

How to find my % % to add my line with iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9BC4 in this case?
