keyboard doesnt work!

Yes, it will come with an adapter as well. That will work, and it's a decent keyboard, especially if you're doing that much typing, I highly recommend something like that over a very standard keyboard. Comfort is important, and health.

And to those that helped, you've got the patience of a saint!
I use the Microsoft Wired Desktop 500 mouse and keyboard. Got them in a pack for $25.

They are by no means "ergonomic", but they have helped me immensely in posting 6000+ posts. :D

Hey guys Will this one work for USB. Sorry i dont have much time to check Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 : Computer Keyboards | RadioShack.com
Yep, that's USB and not PS/2: Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000

That is the keyboard I am using to type this - USB. The problem with this keyboard is that it doesn't spell very well and makes lots of typos! LOL

Isn't that a user error and not a keyboard error *lol*

I would try for Best Buy first, and go from there. You will pay more regardless, but radio shack is incredibly expensive, a few years back I paid off my card I had with them, and cut the thing up. I'll never step foot into a radio shack again!

PS 2 Keyboard

I just did a clean install of windows 7 on my HP Pavilion s3120n which came with Vista two years ago. I like the Vista which had windows mail with contacts and was running smoothhhhh. I have a PS 2 keyboard and mouse. Mouse works fine but some of the funtion keys don't work anymore on the keyboard. (ie the eject key the sound keys and the short cut keys that used to bring up different web pages such as AOL, Google, HP and even open windows mail. Keyboard works fine as far as typing. I have down loaded the multi media driver but need to figure it out. In vista there was a place you could go to and click on buttons and do the funtion keys from there. Any help is soooo much needed. Benn using 7 for one day now and about ready to formate the disk and reinstall Vista. KB-0630 is the model number of this HP keyboard.

It should have come with a manual, did you read it? Also the software, is it installed? If so, you need to launch the application, and specifically assign certain tasks to each key. Some may already function as soon as the software is installed, but something like "email" you'll need to setup manually.

If you don't have the actual, physical manual, go to the manufactuers website, and there should be a manual in *.pdf, ie Adobe Reader.

Also there should be a help function within the software, if in fact you've installed it.

I know exactly why your specialized keys aren't working, they need the driver to tell Windows how the hardware operates.

Hope that helps. It should certainly streamline as well with Windows 7 as it did with Vista. Reply or PM for more help, this is an old and beaten thread.

Peace

Thank you for the reply. I purchased a Hp Pavilion s3120n computer
two years ago and it came with this keyboard. My OS at that time was Vista Home Prem. This week I had Windows 7 Pro installed. This was a clean install, the tech wiped my disk clean and then installed the new OS. My keyboard is a HP KB-0630 ps2. I think you call it a plug and play. The keys that don't work are the eject, E-mail, search and help. All the keys worked until I installed windows 7. I tried another ps2 keyboard and same problem. Can not locate any software at the HP site. Thank You.
