I have a Gateway KB-0532 keyboard that I like and would like to use on my new computer. The one that I am typing on is too small. The keyboard has a PS/2 plug and the computer has the necessary port. The keyboard is not recognized when I plug it in. Using an adaptor (PS/2 to USB) the keyboard works, but is not recognized on start up. I would prefer to just plug it into the PS/2 port so I can take the adaptor back and get my $15, but if the adaptor route is better I'll stick with that.

Can anyone help. I have W7 Home Premium.

Hi and welcome

Probably just needs a driver. can you type device manager in search. Go to the keyboard tab and see if there is a driver listed. Is it there? does it have a yellow triangle on it? is there any other "unknown" devices with yellow on them?
