Lag in Portal (Steam)

Hey guys. Got it today since it was free. Looks like a great game with those recommanded requirements :
- Pentium 4 processor (3.0GHz, or better),
- 1GB RAM, DirectX® 9 level Graphics Card,
- Windows® (Win 7)/Vista/XP/2000,
- Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Compare it to mine below. Here are my settings :

+ Windowed, 1280x768.

I've attached a benchmark I've done with Fraps...

Can people help me here? I want to play that game smoothly. Thanks in advance.

Leave the multimedia class scheduler service running, but disable its network throttling "feature":

* Open regedit
* Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile
* There will be an entry for network performance throttling, default value is 10; set it to FFFFFFFF hex (willl look like 0xFFFFFFFF to the right of the entry)
* Reboot

Tried and it worked. *sigh*

P.S Now playing @ 1920x1200 and all at high AA2x, Anisotropic 4x, Blur, etc.
