I am lagging on all offline games after 3-5 minutes of playing and then stops after about 3-5 minutes makeing it stupid to try playing any games whatsoever this happens with graphics settings set to absolute minimal I have tried everything possible to fix this and then 3 days ago I completely restored my computer and this did not fix anything I have only had this computer for 6 months bought brand new and untill a month ago all my games worked just fine on medium settings what can I possibly do to fix this? I know my computer and graphics card are just fine nothing should need to be replaced to at least play a game at minimal settings without lag is there anything I can possibly do to fix this issue?

Please specify the games you are trying to play. You may also want to consider running a perf monitor to watch your system CPU usage. Given the processor in your system, it suggests your system may be capping on processing power which would cause lag spikes.

Games inculde: Everquest 2, Everquest 1, Diablo 2, Fallout 3, Fallout new vegas, Call of duty modern warfare 2, Combat arms, Oblivion, Starcraft, Warcraft and the list goes on and on like I said all the games are doing the same thing. Why after 5 months of no issues would my processor all the sudden suck and not allow me to play any video games without lag? even with absiolute minimal settings, even diablo 2! Ive played Diablo 2 World of warcraft Everquest 2 starcraft combat arms etc on a computer with a processor from 2001 a 64 MB video card a 40 gig hard drive and 2 gigs of ram how could my brand new PC not play these games which i played on a far far worse cpu with not nearly as many issues?

Might be overhead due to a recent Windows 7 patch, which is necessary for security reasons, but will impact other systems.

One thing to note, 2 Gigs of ram is actually not a lot nowadays, due to programming practices and expectations to being on newer hardware. Which leads to problems like hardware expectations not met, therefore slower response times.
Plus, you stated that your system is the following:

System Manufacturer/Model Number Emachine ET1331g-07w
OS Windows Seven Ultimate X64
CPU AMD Athlon II X2 250u processor (2Cpus) 1.6Ghz
Motherboard ??
Memory 6400 mb

Monitor(s) Displays Dell 20" LCD

According to here:

PassMark CPU Lookup

It's rated at 1713, my old Core 2 Duo at 2.4 GHz was rated at 1506. If it is a 2 core CPU with no HT, the only thing that comes to mind is a recent update is now causing some CPU spikings that is expecting larger CPU threads that your system is not able to do. I know with my old Core 2, which had no HT, and is at 2.4 GHz, was occasionally spiking in games while running a web browser, Curse Client and a 'lightweight' RSS feed reader. And that was with 8 gigs of RAM and an nVidia GTS 250 card. I would investigate whether or not you got other things running and killing them off and see if things improve. Also monitor your CPU usage during the time you play the games. If your computer acts the same as my old system, you are probably playing around 70 to 80% CPU usage in general. Anything else will cause some cpu spiking in the background.

Did you check and make sure you have the most recent drivers and chipset updates? While I know one other person will say Windows Updates should handle all that, sometimes quirky things like slowness would be from a lack of an update to critical systems.

Looking at your system specs again, you went from a Dell Dimension to an E-machine computer... E-machines don't necessarily use the best hardware for some things. While Dell back in the day wasn't super great on some of their computers, they were a lot better than the emachine pre-mades. You at this point, it is hard to say, but e-machines are worse than Dell Dimensions as far as gaming is concern. While the processor and video card are better, it isn't necessary going to make up in other areas that will bring it down if it is an emachine.

Again, run Performance Monitor and see what it says, as well as run WEI to see what it says for Disk Access.

I believe its a heating issue, I cleaned the junk out of my processor fan and placed my household fan right up against the open side of my Pc and so far theres no lag
