Hmm. It seems during uninstalling the device my laptop screen has turned black but it is still on. I'm posting through phone.

Just tried to reboot and I got a BSOD again on startup saying IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I'll post the dumps as soon as I'm in safe mode.

As soon as I logged into safe mode the ATA device and multiple ATA channels had reinstalled themselves. Which is telling me to restart my computer as it has done installing. I'm going to reboot the PC and see if I get the error again.

Rebooting again after those drivers had automatically installed themselves resulted in the same BSOD.

I think that is what should have happened. You simply changed drivers. You uninstalled one driver and on reboot the other driver was installed. Under IDE ATA/ATAPI devices in Device Manager it should say MSAHCI now.

As Steve said that process went as should be expected, but this is really confusing me. The last dump you had is blaming your nVidia driver, and checking the driver's date it's preceding the one I linked.

That is extremely odd. I'll try re-installing the one you have given me again and following that guide Steve had made, I guess.

In the meantime, my device manager says this:

Is the PC accessing an old nvlddmkm.sys file? Because I did sometime ago follow a nvlddmkm.sys.old guide with a 2015 driver. But that was a 2015 one, I don't recall ever downloading a 2013 one. The one listed in PCSpecialist is also a 2014 one.

Device Manager is looking good, we need to sort out that nVidia problem now though. Let us know how installing the last linked driver goes.

Right as soon as I click setup the driver version it is installing is the same as before 327.62. And when I try to install it in safe mode, it says: "The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware."

This is extremely weird. I've followed the guide but when I tried to install the driver you linked me above it kept saying: "The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." I had to restart regardless as I uninstalled the previous driver, so I restarted the laptop and logged in normally and now the driver was installed but not through the setup executable in the folder where I downloaded the driver above, it was through your generic "driver status" icon in the task bar. It has only installed the driver 347.88 but not the GeForce Experience nor the Physx Software...

Right. I have overcome this problem and got the required drivers and accompanying software. As soon as Winsat.exe completes its formal assessmemt I will reboot the laptop and see if i get a BSOD.

Great!! After restarting twice I have not got a BSOD. Everything looks good so far. I don't know if it is completely solved, so I will wait a day or two before marking this thread as solved.

Thank you for your help Steve and Boozad!! I really appreciate it.

Well, lol. Initial problem again of BSOD screen saying "Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed." and also saying it was caused by "nvlddmkm.sys"

Weird thing about this BSOD is that it did not create a dump file..

EDIT: I have now logged back into windows normally and I have not experienced a start up BSOD. I don't know how long this will continue though. I have also provided a screenshot of my Advanced System Settings, I have not changed anything but it could provide some solution to create the dump file.

I also feel that due to my prior overheating problem some damage may have been caused to the GPU. I had gotten my laptop fixed and returned to me and on the 2nd day of use I got multiple BSODs..

In a previous dump which I got the same nvlddmkm.sys BSOD from. I loaded up BlueScreenViewer and the bug check code is 0x00000116, at this point is it the drivers? Or is it that the GPU is failing or may have been damaged due to the previous overheating issue which I sent in for repair to PCSpecialist I have also attached the temperatures of my GPU and CPU.

I have uploaded the dump from the bsod caused by attempting to run furmark

Can you let us know what the original overheating problem was, was it the GPU? Is your laptop still in warranty? Your temps look decent now but with continued 0x116 STOPS I'm leaning towards your GPU being bad.
