My girlfriends laptop (my old laptop) is an HP Pavilion dv3-2310ea. It's recently started cutting out (completely turns off as though the battery has been pulled) when in use, but now it's got so bad i can't even get passed the windows startup, and when it does it's near 2mins before it cuts out again. I'm trying to run a bios update but it won't stay on long enough for me to get anywhere with it. Can anyone help?
EDIT: Managed to download the BIOS update but i'm afraid to install it incase it cuts out. I tried a hard reset which kept it on longer than usual but it ended up freezing. Also it's unusually hot and i don't have any programs running.
