Thanks for the tip however I have mine set to alert me to new updates whenever I open CC - the one VERY annoying thing is I am directed to the download via FileHippo which is so full of obnoxious crap it isn't funny.
I just wished that the piriform site did their own.

The publisher does make it available at Piriform - Download CCleaner - Millions of users worldwide!, it's just that the auto feature is set for FileHippo which can lessen traffic on Piriform's site. I get the Portable version and run it from a USB Thumb/Flash drive.

The program is available from the publisher's site at Piriform - Download CCleaner - Millions of users worldwide!. The use of FileHippo is probably in the auto update feature and does ease the traffic to the owner's site. I get the portable version to put on a USB Thumb/Flash drive to use anywhere.

To ICIT2LOL and others who are wondering how to avoid the FileHippo link, you just have to scroll down to the bottom of the page and use the "Builds" link instead that gives you the choice of using the Standard Installer or the Portable Installer.

Thanks to David and Money Pit two things I didn't know my settings are always to let me know when there is an update and that leads me to File Hippo which I still think is now a trashy site - it never used to be but
Now I am assuming the pressure of running the site have forced them into putting up that rubbish they do - shame that such sites have to go to those lengths although again I feel if they have to they could use advertising and links that are a little more decorous.

It's only released several days after the Standard build that contains the toolbars and extra crap has been released.
The Slim Build has no unwanted extras included.
This is the download you need:
Currently at the time of writing this post the Slim Build isn't available. It will show up as an available download in a few days time. If you want the new version without the crap just wait for the Slim Build.

Hmm now just as matter of interest what does everyone use for cleaning with this as mine analyses fast enough but the actual clean seems to take an inordinate amount of time and one can watch the files go by as they are cleaned - I do use the 1 overwrite pass though.

I've got mine set to AutoClean. It takes no time at all. I had the same sluggish performance until I learned how to trim cleaners that are not needed from the winapp2.ini file. See this post in this thread:
It's pretty tricky to run that batch file correctly. My preferred method is to use CCEnhancer to auto trim winapp2.ini but I've used both methods before.
Note: Be careful with CCEnhancer and pay attention to anything marked with an asterisk. If you want to know what each setting does - open the winapp2.ini file with your text editor (notepad or similar) and find the relevant entry.

Generally you can just install it over the top of the old version. If you've downloaded the crap version with the toolbars it's best to fully remove it and reboot before clean installing the Slim Build.
Most people seem to run the 32bit executable by default but I always run the 64bit executable. Obviously only on a 64bit machine.
I run it from a shortcut with the /AUTO switch.
"C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner64.exe" /AUTO

Callendar mate in my pic are what I have in settings are what you term toolbars the different features? Because if I were to get rid of those I would have no way of checking and saving cookies which I do always as one gets sick of deleting passworded sites and having login all the time.
