As to why theirs is opening to C:\Users, I'm not sure about that. I just pointed out the obvious from your previous screenshot.

I know it was clearly labeled but when i tried admin first it didn't work (as shown in screen shot) thats why i tried the other, both don't work .


Any ideas as to why i can't get past the second part?

Sorry for the late answer,

Extract the Chipset_10.0.27_Public.zip and put the two files mup.xml & SetupChipset.exe in the created chip folder in root C:\

The command window as to be run as Admin and then access to the cd\ as it shows.

Don't rename the SetupChipset.exe !!!

You're missing a slash when typing: C:\>cd\chip

Go to chip folder created with cd\ command and type in the command window:

SetupChipset.exe -overall AND NOT: SetupChipset.exe-overall

Should looks like this:

C:\chip>SetupChipset.exe -overall (and hit Enter)

You have to put a space between "SetupChipset.exe" and "-overall" (no real need -overide, its for IDE)

Your dealing with a complete idiot here NoN , does my screenshots look correct , i am still getting that "can't find the path specified in command prompt .

In the new folder i created is in the second screenshot , those two are correct i hope

I can't figure out how to go about the two things i circled in the bottom screenshot.

Try renaming your folder to chip, or point the cmd to New Folder instead of chip since your folder is named that.

It also looks like you have a folder in a folder from this screenshot.

Did you get rid of the second folder? That may be stopping it from seeing the setup you want it to see.

In other words, Instead of C:\New Folder\New Folder\SetupChipset, as it shows in the screenshot I pointed out previously.

Just have the one folder, C:\New Folder\SetupChipset

Step one: You should have only one folder in C:\

example: C:\New Folder, and NOT C:\New Folder\New Folder

Step two: Put the two files in it as i already told you.

Step three: open the window command as Admin and begin to go with cd\ command to the New Folder created in C:\

Step Four: the result is like this C:\New Folder>SetupChipset.exe -overall then hit Enter!

Step Five: reboot the computer as it shows in the Intel installer, and your done!!

Should the new folder end up in system 32 when first made or it just has to show in the the main C drive page like the screenshot shows?

I ask because i followed the info and there's only one folder and it's showing just like the tutorial but i am not getting past the last part in command prompt.

It had to stay in root C:\

If you look in the address bar of this screenshot you posted it clearly shows two folders, C:\New Folder\New Folder

Now you have no folder according to the screenshot in post #250, this is where you want the folder.

This mean the command hasn't worked for you, even if you have launch the Intel's "SetupChipset.exe", because it didn't take as account the -overall command.

You have to try it again with all the advices we gave you.

EDIT:
You have a Intel Series 6/C200 Chipset Family platform...you should look in the release notes if its the correct one for you, which i doubt now.

Don't bother to try those one again, because they are not for your machine...the Intel update utility tool gave you the wrong version!!!!

Actually i'm searching for you the latest...wait a minute or so...

The latest i could find that are WHQL signed by Microsoft are the v9.4.4.1006 and are dated year 2013.

I've attached for you the .ZIP file and you can try with the same command cd\

Delete what's in New Folder and remplace by the one i've attached, try like this "infinst_autol.exe -overall".

You should be able now to have them right installed. We're around anyway, if!

BTW,
Which one did you took before? Was link from the first page v10.0.27 or the v10.1.1.7 (i posted too as Attached Files )?

Anyway try the latest for you v9.4.4.1006 i've attached.

From your screenshot...it shows the Intel Rapid Storage Manager driver controller version 10.5.0.1026 dated of 2011 which are not the same as the Chipset.Inf... you're mixing the things up!!!
