Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers Windows 7

It is working on 5200. I went to bios and changed some features.AGP apperature size was 4mb changed to 128 mb, disable memory hole 15mb - 16mb, disable delyed transaction. When i restarted computer error code 43 was gone.

It has only been a few hours since XFastest have released the new GeForce 185.20 beta drivers, including a new release of Nvidia's PhysX engine 8.11.18.

Yet what's particularly noteworthy is that these new drivers contain an Ambient Occlusion setting that can be set to Low, Medium, High and Off.

Ambient Occlusion adds realism to scenes by reducing the intensity of ambient light on surfaces blocked by surrounding objects. It enhances depth perception by providing a soft shadow effect for objects based on their placement in the scene. This feature is not supported for all applications.

Basically, Ambient Occlusion is used to create soft, ambient lighting shadows, emulating diffused lighting such as daylight or indoor ambient lighting. For a more articulate description, refer to the Wikipedia definition here.

Additionally, Hardware-Infos has a write-up comparing GeForce 185.20 beta to several popular drivers releases issued in the second half of 2008.

The drivers are available for Windows XP (32-bit and 64-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit) and Windows 7 build 7000 and can be found here :-

Not sure how many of you have seen this, but I figured I'd post it in here. Nvidia recommends that you use the Nvidia Drivers that are available on Windows Update (WU). I've tried using both the WU drivers, and the latest drivers available and I find that the WU drivers give me the best performance...

gonna give these a trail today, i don't expect too much from these new drivers anymore, they seem to release a new one whenever they find a bug or glitch in a games performance...:sarc:

i'd much rather wait 3-4 months & see some real improvements......

I am using the 181.22 beta drivers, with no compatibility issues. Showed up as windows 7 driver when installing!

Total flop for my 7600GS - ended up with a pale grey taskbar and an inferior resolution as max. possible so reverted to what WU provided.

I haven't had any problems installing this version. You might see if using Compatibility Mode with Vista selected may allow them to install better.

No problems here yet. Am going to try a game & media center.

Tried a game and media center. Both OK. The 18.22 whql driver also cleared the problem with black a screen replacing the theme, after using media center !

I haven't had any problems installing this version. You might see if using Compatibility Mode with Vista selected may allow them to install better.

I tried Compatibility Mode, I even tried installing as Administrator - still the same wrong max resolution, pale grey taskbar and no nVidia Control Panel.

This is really baffling me as I never usually have any issues installing device drivers.

181.22 installed OK on Vista and on both my XP Pro's but I'm still stuck with 179.23 in W7, not that I'm complaining about that, at least it works.
