Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

Thanks for your help! I could not figure out why I had a bunch of problems with this. Im going to try the creative option. Im hoping this will allow me to put my headset into the front port and with out any problems record and playback through the ear piece.

The installion went perfect. I have my headset plugged into the front green port which has a picture of headphones. I was hoping this could be used for a headset. Im not sure if the mic should be unmuted or a line in. Right now I can hear sound but I can not record. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Sorry not familiar with creative software, and as this is the thread for the latest realtek drivers maybe it would be best to start another thread.

F.Y.I New version out as of 5-08-09 for Realtek R2.23 . Can this be used with Windows 7?

Hello Oldhouse, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The new ALC1200 codec is not listed as being officially supported by these drivers yet. However, I have read from searching with Google that this latest 2.23 driver has worked just fine with it.

Just to let everyone know, be sure to have the mic option (for the back of your onboard sound card, NOT the front area) to about 28db. This way, you will be able to hear the rear speakers. There may be a bit of a crackling noise, thats nomral becuase the video file is loading up.

Other then that, I get clear sound out of my speakers, im using the creative 5.1 ones.

What about the option Microphone +20db Boost, should I have this checked or unchecked?

I suppose that it depends on the quality of your microphone, but I have to have mine set to +20db boost for the playback to be loud enough to be heard.

make sure its unchecked because this way, you will not have any static.

Plus it might screw up the speakers in some weird way as well .

What about if the speakers are on my headset?

they should work all together, if not then there should be a pulldown menu that should say "Realtek (Front)" or something like that. Then from there, you should see a few settings that are muted, unmute them and you should be fine.

I will look into this sometime this weekend .

i have realtek ac97 audio
windows 7

clean install,no other operating system

here is my problem , i do have sound from my speakers

i also get sound from my front jack when earphones are plugged in,but the sound still plays through my speakers

any1 know how to stop the sound playing through speakers when i plug in my earphones .

Do you have any headphones with volume control? If so, use them. Because I have the same problem with my Realtek HD Audio AC660 .

This is normal though and it is not harmful either.

There is nothing to worry about really.

Darn! I cant download using Chrome as thier site does not support it...dont have any other browsers installed in W7..will have to boot into vista and use IE7 in there
