Flash Player 18.0.0.95 Beta is out so they have now moved onto 18 and it still won't install without uninstalling the older version, stupid app.

So nothing to update yet is what your saying , the stable version isn't out apparently . Seems a week or two ago there was a new version.

I'm beginning to think that you have a damaged or corrupt Adobe file. Seems the general consensus from other Forum members is you shouldn't have to uninstall the older version. I don't have to uninstall the older version from any of my computers. Here's the official Adobe Flash Uninstaller.

Pay close attention to Item 3, "Run The Uninstaller", and Step 3, "Delete Flash Player files and folders". Perhaps by totally removing Flash from your computer and starting out fresh will solve your problem of having to uninstall an old version before being able to install a new version.

You could also try the free 30 day trial of Revo Uninstaller Pro and use the "forced uninstall" option. And just a gentle reminder that Beta versions of software are still in development stage. They may not be stable and installing them is always a potential risk.

I've just downloaded Flash Player 18.0.0.107 Beta (IE) and it installed no problem this time.

While i removed the last flash player i am wondering about if i need to install "Flash" at all , what exactly is the benefit of having flash anyway .

Yes, i am actually that stupid.

If you want to watch any flash content, you'll need flash player.
I'm sure you'll find out when you go to site and can't see flash content you want to see.

I set all my browser addons to "Ask To Activate" so nothing plays automatically.
I chose what and when to play.

Also see Plugins Click To Play for better anti-exploit protection. It's better than setting your browser to activate flash on demand for the whole webpage or entire website.

I use the Opera one also , seems to work well . Forgot about that actually, maybe i will insall Flash and just use it if needed.
