Latest Version of Adobe Reader

As I collect lots of e-books in pdf format, both in office and home, I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended version and the most features I use are PDF optimizer, Bookmarks, PDF from scanner and PDF from Webpage functions. I use Acrobat Professional for viewing the PDFs also.

Despite its being bloated and slower compared to some PDF reader, Adobe Reader is still the best in terms of the quality of rendering complex PDF files, IMO.

Sometimes I used Adobe Reader but now my prefer soft for pdfs is PDF-XChange Viewer. It's much more faster Adobe. Nice free Viewer and Pro- (only 74 if you want compare with price for Adobe Acrobat) with all necessary functionality

I just checked the reader and there is a new version 10.1.2 available.

I don;t know if this is just my set up but the download run time on my laptop
is 1 hour 52 min to complete the job.

Is this normal

Thanks

Thank you enigma, first post updated. :)

It depends on what your download bandwith is with your internet service provider (ISP), and what bandwidth Adobe is pumping it out at for how long it will take to download. That is a very long time to download Adobe Reader though.

Yes it is a long time.

I thought ADOBE might be overloaded with downloads so I waited till 5AM today and ran it to completion. This is my usual log in time but total download time was 6 min.

My broadband according to Verizon FIOS is up to 35MB u/d which I doubt.

Hum simon very strange what security do you have because my Kaspersky is very fussy re Adobe products and I am thinking maybe yours might be blocking it for a reason.
