Latest Version of Malwarebytes

Don't misunderstand my previous post about System Restore and Malwarebytes. I don't have any current issues with Malwarebytes and it was a Windows update that caused me to do a system restore.

I just thought people should know to check Malwarebytes if a System Restore is necessary.

My version (paid for) has a habit of not responding when I start it up but wait for a minute or so and it "restarts" - not a big deal it is fast.

That still doesn't sound good :/

I'm still using V1.75 personally, I hope it continues to be supported well beyond the currently stated cut-off date early next year.

This is from the MBAM forum about V 1.75 end of support.

There are no program updates planned for 1.75. That is the end of the 1.x road.

Support for version 1.75 will end on March 24, 2015, which is one year after the release of 2.0.

Database updates will continue to be created, as they serve both 1.75 and 2.x.

Thanks for the info, I think I will downgrade to the previous version and keep it as long as possible. Never had any problems with that one.

Issues with 2.0 have been the same since the beginning and no matter how many clean and re-.... it stays the same :/

2.0 update tasks seems fairly useless to me in my world everyday at 12 noon is just that,
Recover task.. happens once and never again
And why would it need to recover a task if the machine was running at the time of the task

Thanks, I was aware of that discussion and outcome. Hence my expressing the hope that a decision will ultimately be taken to continue support beyond early next year, i.e.March, given the less than enthusiastic standing in which 2.x continues to be held.

Same here, but I left the MBAM window open for a while(don't know if that did it or not) and now it shows:

I looked through all of the settings pages and it doesn't have the option anymore to update versions automatically like 1.75.... used to have ?

Looks like I'll have to monitor it for a day or two and see if it switches on a daily scheduled update

Just came back to to my computer after 20 mins and automatically received the update notification, Thanks for the update Bill as after checking for updates yesterday I thought this version was still in beta.

I rolled back to v1.75 when they first introduced v2 because definition file updates took forever. I had the problem on 2 PCs and tried over a number of days to make sure it wasn't an ISP issue.
Maybe v2.0.3.1025 has fixed this problem?

MBAM 2.0.3.1025 working

Well it's worked for me with no crashes this version. A couple of strange things though. Heuristics scanning was not selected in the settings but was still performed. Database updates worked fine. There's no scheduled updates in the free version.

Scanned one drive (Windows) and it took ages. 2+ hours.





EEK scanned three drives including rootkit scan in just under 2 hours. Same detections. (False positives as those registry entries are intentionally added but not standard)

I forgot to add, this version installed over the previous with no issue. I have had no issues with the previous version updating definitions or scanning. I only had issues updating the program. No problem this time, and it's working great

Malwarebytes is getting worse and worse. Installed the newest version and it is disabling itself!

What the heck are they doing over there?
