Yes John I looked for that box each time I downloaded it and from different sites including the official MBAM site but it didn't give that option.

That is strange...
I've never seen the trial option checkbox not displayed.
The MBAM (Home User ) installer is the same for all versions - Free, Pro, Trial.
The difference is if a user accepts the trial or enters a license key - to enable the PRO features.
I can't test an install now as I have MBAM Pro on all my systems...

Just to be sure - there is no download available directly from MBAM...the most "directed" download site is to CNET (download.com)...

IT's ok I found another way around it and got the box to untick this time.

Google > Malwarebytes home (malwarebytes.org/) > For Home > Malarebytes Anti-Malware Free

Thanks David I just found a way after clearing it yet again with Revo

Forgot to mention this was clean install of 7 so I am the only one who has tried putting it on.

FYI, I always use the mbam-clean.exe utility to uninstall MBAM whenever i need to.
I do use REVO, but not for security programs...

• Download and run this utility. mbam-clean.exe
• It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).
• After the computer restarts, Temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
  Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent
  Launch the program and set the Protection and activation. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
  Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.

Thanks David yes I always uninstall AV's with the appropriate uninstaller and I always check the regedit HKEYS > Software as that Norton particularly always seems to leave a ref to Symantec in there (both HKEY's - USER and LOCAL MACHINE)

Here is how it worked for me.
I was using the free Malwarebytes Anti Malware for a long time.
I received a option to upgrade to Pro with a trial period and I accepted.
I use it for a while and then mail a check.
I received a email that they had processed the check and gave me the proper registration number. I registered the program and the programs works.

To the best of my knowledge when you go back to the free version of Malwarebytes Anti Malware all active protection stops.
I don't know if you have to uninstall the Pro version and install the free version again.

Yeah the porn site mode real time protection stops and you are back to manual scans.

I have the paid version, since I won it in a contest. Prior to that Iused the free version. The only difference is the real time protection, as mentioned above. Just make frequent scans to make sure that you are clean.

Which would put you worse off then if you never tried the trail. The stuff would keep running all of the time (but it does not good) until you uninstall Malwarebytes.

Also we are listening! An End Trial button is going to be included in a future version.

I do not see that button during the trial period... so one must uninstall Malwarebytes to end the trial early.

When the notification comes up stating that it is expired, click on the tooltip balloon message. It should open up a window with the option to End trial, click on that option and this shouldn't occur again.

Please let us know if you have further issues.

One can hope that this End Trial button will truly revert Malwarebytes back to the free state - without the service and the apps running all of the time.

This was just a curiosity. I'm not so curious as to want to test it thru an entire trial. I uninstalled an old version of Malwarebytes from a friend's computer after seeing the notice pop up that the trial had ended and then I re-installed Malwarebytes without opting into the trial. I was just wondering if someone had tried to revert to the free mode via another path.

Your can right click the tray icon and remove the check marks and it should stop all the Trail features until it expires.

Thanks. I had not clicked around enough to find those. Unchecking them and then restarting does stop all but the tiny scheduler service. If that service is manually stopped and disabled, starting the Malwarebytes app will restart and re-enable it. One must manually delete any scheduled events to prevent the Malwarebytes app from restarting and re-enabling the scheduler service.

Yes Bear I have a disk I bought ages ago but the full version doesn't play with Kaspersky too well or else I would use the full on stuff.

I uninstalled Malwarebytes today as it kept picking up a Trojan.Zaccess virus which turned out to be a False/Positive.
I found this out when I D/L Sophos Free Virus Removal tool, which picked up three other viruses. After some googling I found out that Trojan.Zaccess was a False/Positive.
