Thanks. it's not made it to the servers for the UK yet. I wonder if this will fix the Windows 8 problems? One can but hope.
It has fixed my WDDM (3D driver) problem in W8.

With 4.1.12 I still had problems with the guest additions. It rendered my Win 8 unusable. I had to restore a snapshot I took before trying the new Guest Additions for Win 8.
