I've got a Lenovo T60p Type 8745 laptop. It has a widescreen. When I installed Windows 7, it defaulted to 'Generic PnP Monitor on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter'. I can't seem to find the correct driver to move it to, and I dunno how to find which specific graphics card I have. The resolution I'm using is 1280 x 1024 which appears a little wide. Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.

From the search box enter dxdiag and save the report to your desktop... it will tell you the grafix card that your laptop is using... get the latest driver and install manually.... Hope this helps..

The problem is that Current Mode 1280x1024 is the wrong size. It displays correctly in XP though.

Can you try updating your Chipset driver, get it from Intel. Then retry the Video driver from Lenovo.

I know they're standard adapters. When I try those install bios links and new graphics adapters it doesn't work though. No restart. Any ideas?

I had the same problem my T60p and I think I found the solution.

1. Update the bios
2. Download and use this driver
Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM
3. Run Windows update which should give you an optional ATI update for higher resolutions.

While I still can't find/run the ATI catlyst software my system recognizes a higher resolution monutor with many more resolution possibilities. Let me know if this helps.

Hondo
