Lets free some memory!

Hello guys, I am wanting to free some memory from my laptop, I have just deleted all my backups and unwanted games, e.c.t

Is there anything else that I can delete, like something windows 7 gives but no-one uses that can be deleted?

I heard that unnecessary programs run without you knowing and can be stopped? Any thing that may remove a GB would be grateful if anyone could help!

i assume you mean hard-drive space rather than memory...

you could try running disk cleanup - just start typing disk into your startmenu searchbox, then select disk cleanup from the results at the top.

also check out the 'turn windows features on or off' section in the 'program and features' part of the control panel - only you can decide what you think you need or will need in the future.

Done that, didn't free much, but it worked, any other ideas?
