Win7(64) on newish Aria PC. Unable to install LifeCam 3.5. ‘…setup cannot continue – unexpected error – kb953691’ … [as reported by many others on the net].
Device detected and Webcam drivers loaded OK by plug&play
a. LiveCam was automatically updated by Win Update
b. Installed NetTramework 4
c. Updated to DirectX 11
Much of KB953691 was checked thru incl setting service to (auto) from (manual) as directed.
Restored system to before a,b,c above … still same result with install
Noted no install problems when installing to Dell w7 64Laptop.
Have not yet tried to repair win7.
With many folk reporting - elsewhere on the net - the same problem surely there is a common denominator clue as to what is causing the problem ?
