Lightweight webbrowser with flash

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a very lightweight browser that has minimal system impact while gaming + streaming.

I'm streaming a 720p/45fps stream and game performance is nice so long as I do not have my addon-heavy Firefox browser open. I suspect it's the annoying flash that has the severe system resource penalties.

I need those addons on that browser to be productive so I'll need either a Firefox lite mode which can be launched with the click of button (without hassle), or a completely different browser that supports Flash.

I only need that browser to watch the quality of my stream, and to chat with my viewers + browsing lulz pages during my downtime (1+5~tabs=).


Or can I bypass this in another way?
I currently have process priority manager where I have set flash and plugin container to 'low' priority. But this doesn't really help for that particular issue.

Flash is not generally slowing the system down from get-go, but after several minutes; while having my own stream feedback open and playing: the system slows down.
Soon as I close my browser, performance is back up.

I apologize for hijjacking thread - downloaded SlimBoat and it seems nice, but I would like to have WOT on there and don't see a way to add add-ons.

Any way to do it?

Hi,

There's no way to add any extensions or plugins to SlimBoat. Here's a quick quote from the manufacturer.

Q: What is the difference between Slimjet, SlimBrowser and SlimBoat?

They are all web browser products from FlashPeak Inc but they are based on different engines. Slimjet is based on Blink engine (the engine behind Chrome from Google). SlimBrowser is based on Trident engine (the engine behind Internet Explorer from Microsoft). SlimBoat is based on the Qt-port of Webkit engine. The three browsers have a similar set of features. Slimjet is the most robust and stable of the three and is most suitable for people who prefer a simple and clean user interface. SlimBrowser is suitable for people who prefer an advanced user interface with as many options as possible. SlimBoat has the smallest memory footprint and run across multiple platforms but might have compatibility issues with a few web sites due to the QtWebkit engine. Slimjet is our top recommendation for Windows users.

I've tried all three of these browsers and the only one that will accept the WOT plugin is SlimJet but it's pretty similiar to Chrome and doesn't have the same features as the other two browsers.

If you want a fast lightweight browser (like the OP was asking for) then SlimBoat will probably do the job but for everyday use it's not great! The nearest equivalent is SlimBrowser but WOT will not work with it either.

I'll be trying out Slimboat portable in the evening when I stream.

The only addon that I really miss is ABP, yet I'll manage without.

Although I do want to tryout the Steam or Origin browser as standalone and not overlay as I already have them on my Disk. Is there any way to launch those browsers as programs of their own?

Okay that was quite horrible.
It's choppy and unresponsive on immediate selection and under certain loading conditions. The behavior is similar IE11 - possibly because it is the same engine?

Do you have experiences with the other two web-browsers?
A 'smooth' experience is almost mandatory at this point...

Well if it didn't go well for you then there's probably little point in trying the other two. SlimBrowser is pretty much like Internet Explorer and SlimJet's like Chrome. Neither are as lightweight as SlimBoat.

Alright then,
as a last resort I want to launch the steam browser independently (because if I use it from the overlay people will see what I'm doing) - but I doubt anyone here knows how to do that.
