Hello all,

I need the drivers for the Linksys Wireless-G USB Network Adapter with Speed Booster. The model number is WUSB54GS, ver. 1. I am currently running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit version.

Thanks in advance,

Just curious but have you tried installing it anyway and seeing if Windows 7 will assign it's own drivers? I ask because you haven't said if you installed it or not.

thefabe: thanks for posting the link. I tried installing the drivers from the support page you linked me to on the linksys website. The compatibility mode that I chose was Windows XP SP2, but I was not able to get past the "connect your device" screen in the installation process. It seems that it just hangs up there and does not go past it. After that window abruptly closes, I checked out the Device manager and see that it has error code 28: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)", hence I am looking through these forums for a 64-bit driver for this particular product.

sygnus21: I have looked through other forums and googled certain search results to find that other versions of windows (XP, Vista, and 2000) all have had issues with the WUSB54GS product in their respective 64-bit configurations. Windows 7, which has been amazing in terms of finding every other driver for my computer, is hung up on no driver for the WUSB54GS. Interestingly enough, Windows 7 does correctly identify the device in the device manager, so I think it knows what product it is, but for whatever reason does not have the correct driver and cannot initiate the device, thus giving the error code.

If anyone has a specific 64-bit driver for Windows XP, Vista, or 7, please let me know so that I can try to install it and get my device up and working properly.

Thanks in advance,
-Porkbork101

Windows seven has done a fantastic job with suppling drivers for most hardware. Unfortunately in your case it's going to be up to the hardware manufacturer to provide them, and this just may not happen. I wish you the best of luck in searching for 64 bit drivers , otherwise your only choice will be to purchase a Seven or compatible hardware. Fabe

Thanks for the feedback guys. Officially, Linksys does not support 64-bit operating systems...I found this thread in the linksys forums, and am trying to get the driver that someone has created. I posted on here thinking that someone else might have it as well, but thanks for all your help so far.

I have tried to follow the 211 Error instructions, but it still does not load the right driver. Interestingly enough, windows 7 does see the correct device, but not the correct driver.

I found this very useful link for anyone who wants to configure the driver:
