I "love" how the MOST IMPORTANT information is displayed using the smallest font.

We may love, but we will not get anything else. It is their business, and they will do what fits their interest most without violating the law. The disclosure is there, and so they are legally safe. Now we need to know how to keep ourselves safe.

The capital market instruments always disclose the MOST IMPORTANT information (from customer's perspective) in a even more hidden manner. We dont complain; neither the controlling authorities.

I'd label that picture as ethically dubious (i.e. they are obviously counting on people "ignoring" the small font info).

Personal ethics and business ethics are not the same. For a business it it complies with all the laws then it is fine.
And, when we see a guy have installed an unwanted piece of program just by not unchecking an option during installing a software, whom we blame? The software installer package, or the person who installed it?

Suppose I am getting Format Factory, a (somehow) widely suggested program, from Format Factory - Free media file format converter. I run the installer ..... see how hidden the unwanted programs are ....

Ethically dubious? Well, let us agree on it and stop suggesting it.

Actually it depends on the person who is consuming it. Read it what comes in front of you and act accordingly. If you show negligence, will will be a victim of schemer. Format Factory or LinkedIn, they are in the market to do business, not to win the fair play trophy.

The filters are now in the Main GMail account and seem to catch most stuff based on the sender details, so no real need for word searches if needed I can always set up a filter in Thunderbird that's more specific than my GMail ones, The great advantage of IMAP is that you can do the folder shuffle at source or locally and it shows the same in all devices when you get round to read things

One thing I set up here is a number of folder to receive mail from various senders under different categories. For vendors I have dealt with and screen anything they send will be set to go into a vendors folder while MS News and other MS mailings end up in an MS folder.

The advantage of Live Mail(now outlook*dot*com) was being able to set things for one mail you are looking and include all future emails being redirected into a specific folder. Tracking orders will be sent another automatically as well as a few others for others like Clearwater Marine Animal Hospital emails and other things. What is not on the contacts list as new legit source is added in as a new contact when first sending with those also ending up in the junk folder at first until you click on the safe sender or add new contact option when being filtered.

The rest of unknowns simply get blocked while the "@ something random number live.uk" is a continual automatically rotating sender like an automatic junk mailer where the domain wasn't able to be blocked out entirely! This has been the main problem there.

It's like comparing how putting your phone number on a national do not call list and every few weeks or so getting a telemarketing call from the exact source asking if Catherine or Katherine is there when there isn't any and you recognize the same person at times! I would like a nice ultrasound ear deafening squealing noise maker for the rambling on you get! :roflmaout that up against the hand set and let it roar!!!

You would be surprised to learn just how many software companies provide Linux versions of their softwares! Even VMware has a Linux flavor for their latest Workstation 12. There are plenty of malwares, viruses for Linux while the Diehard Linux users rarely mention if they get bugged at all unlike someone with a Windows or Fruit company machine asking for help!

One more thing I could here in retrospect to the Live Mail senders still finding several junk mails arriving but redirected to the junk mail folder is one example of how the same sender is using a somewhat consistent pattern while still using random addresses.

All live.co.uk or on some occasions live.uk being the one constant in addition to the random but nowhere as frequent junk that arrives. Simply blocking the at live.co.uk had been tried a few times to no avail. You can see the randomization however being an automatic type junk mail generator in use.
