Little Noise When I Am Recording

I have a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD and I am not running a Peer-To-Peer aplication. See the Task Manager please.
Thanks!

Hola

This is my last shot... your Laptop is connected to the Internet with the Wireless, correct.

Ok, in task manager end any process that begins with igfx.

Also end "hkcmd.cmd", "STService.exe", "Snipping Tool.exe".
(These will all be back once you reboot.)

Go to device manager and disable your wireless internet adapter.
(This you will have to enable.)

Try a recording.

Good luck... I have a feeling it's more than one problem, the recorded glitch is different than the playback sound you were hearing on the other file which did not have a glitch.

Buena suerte Solock

I live near the US/Mexico border, are you in Central America (as it's called here).

The noise still there men, you think If I buy some ExpressCard Sound Card for my laptop, the recording would be better? Or I should buy a new laptop? If so, what laptop do you recommend for recording and edit rap songs?

I uploaded just the little noise repeated few times If you want to check.

Thanks.

I give, I surrender.... maybe someone else can jump in here with fresh ideas. Without being able to work on your laptop, I've exhausted all ideas.

I will say this... in my experience 95% of all problems like yours can be fixed, but it's time consuming. I kind of used a random approach going after the main culprits but it really takes concentrated, step by step thoroughness.

Then again, a Windows USB driver update could solve the problem. Speaking of USB, I'm not really a big fan of USB for real time operations, USB ports are always sharing IRQs with other devices, transmit data in packets and a basically controlled by the OS. It kind of depends on each individual system as to how well USB works for digital audio. Some companies have drivers for their USB hardware, these are generally much more reliable than the standard Windows driver which shares the USB port.

Right click the Microsoft speaker icon, select recording devices, select your USB Mic and then look at properties... I would experiment with as many different settings as possible.

You can also raise the priority of "audiodg" in Task Manager.... you will see it appear when you start your recording software. Consider it "experimental!!!"

I can't advise you on hardware or software... too many variables.

I would email Samson, see if they have any suggestions.

Thanks but remember that the noise happen with the include laptop microphone too, so is not problem of Samson. I'm gonna try using other SO such Ubuntu, maybe It can resolve my problem. I used Audition 3, Cubase and Audacity to record.

I will follow this topic for advices, thanks.

Most built-in laptop devices on newer machines are USB, this may include the mic, video cams, trackpad & keyboard...etc.

Try the audiodg trick I posted.

I do not have an audiodg when I'm recording. :( But I tried your program and happened exactly what you wrote, what does it mean?

It means you need to go to the same site and download the product support sheet and read about DPC latency and what can cause problems.... there's also information on the website.

Then we'll talk!

Can I just ask what version of Windows 7 you are running?

x86 or x64?

You look to have an improvement according to the chart you just posted.

Here is a very useful services guide. I recommend printing this out and working from a sheet of paper. There are various levels of Services tweaks listed. (Safe, Tweaked, Bare Bones) This might take a bit of playing around and some patience trying out each level of Services tweaks.
Windows 7 Service Configurations by Black Viper

Towards the bottom of this page
Windows 7 Services Registry Files and Information

You can download and apply the "safe" Services patch.

If you get a little stuck and are worried what changes you have actually made you download and install the "Default" services patch.

Any higher level of services tweaks you want to try, you'll have to do manually.

in short....yes.

When i do recording, I have a profile patch that I made that disables some unnecessary processes from running while I am recording.

When my recording session is over, I just install the default patch again and everything is set back to Windows default.

You don't need a lot of stuff running while you record. Turn off your security suites and really anything that is running that doesn't need to be. Disconnect your PC from the net as well.

In an ideal world I would have a PC just assigned to recording, but unfortunately I only have one at the moment.

Solock, you are very close.

Let me ask you to do one more thing under Device Manager.

Click on the Battery triangle to open it up.
Is there something named.. "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery"

Or something similar... if so, disable it. (This is a known

Reboot and check DPC latency.

Laptops are more difficult bacuase of the powersaving features tacked on, a lot of extra stuff running.

On the Acer laptop I use for mobile recording I have a "Standard Boot" and an "Audio" boot.

Also, you might try recording again, even with the yellow spikes you may get passable results.

Ap

Electrotune... my method of dealing with Services... Turn 'em all to manual and see what's running after a reboot!
