Little problem with *.exe files

Hello. I cant open any *.exe files. WHen i just double click hem, windows media centers opens. All files are being opened by WMC. I dont know what to do. Tried to search for something like "reset all parameters" , but i cant find semething like that. It started, when some strange window showd up, i i accidently choosed WMC from the list and pressed ok.

If someone know how i can reset that programs could open like a programs, please, help

With problems like this probably the easiest way is a system restore. It is quick and easy. If that does not work get the bigger guns system image restore.

i cant do system restore or system image restore, becouse it says that i dont have any restore point(or something like that) or any system image, so these actions cant be completed.

The "strange" window was probably asking what program you wanted to open a particular file type with - and you selected "Media Centre" and had the option checked to always open this file type with WMC. Fix it by right clicking the exe file you want to open and select "open with" option nand go from there.
Also, might sound like stating the obvious... but have you checked your "Folder Options" (view tab) in the Control Panel? Uncheck "hide extensions for known file types" and check that the files you are trying to open end in .exe

But when i right click on the file there is no option "open with". As i remember only windows xp have had this function.

You need to un-associate that file extension.
