Location(Directory) of Windows 7 restore points !!!

I want to save a restore point by taking its backup becoz system deletes old restore points nd new ones are created . I wanna take its backup so that old restore point can also be used. So can anyone tell me where does system save its restore point.

They are stored in the System Volume Information folder, but I think it is normally inaccessible.

There is an application called "System Restore Explorer", but I don't know how well it works. Google it if you insist.

How many restore points are you trying to save. I have 16 restore points as of now.

To save the state of your system from a much earlier time you are better off to use an image backup. Restore Points work like a patch or diff program. They try to revert changes but the restore point can only save so much information about how the system was at that point. If you're trying to go back months I'd use system images saved to external drives.

Something like Marcium Reflect or Easus ToDo.

I'm pretty sure that even if you could backup an RP it would be useless as the RPs are not true backups and cannot be restored.

Keeping in mind the above posts about restore points vs. backup images, you can use CCleaner to manage your restore points and delete individual ones while keeping others.

To ensure that there's enough space for new restore points without deleting old ones, increase the available disk space in your System Restore settings.

Even if you were able to backup a single specific restore point, you would not be able to use it to do a system restore with.

If you wanted to be able to keep more restore points, then you could use the tutorial below to set how much disk space you would like to be used to save restore points with by system protection as Corazon posted above.

However, restore points are not always reliable or useful in some situations. Because of this, either manually backing up files you do not want to lose, or creating a system image backup would be more reliable.
