Logitech Classic Keyboard 200 keeps disconnecting

Causing me to unplug it and plug it back in again. It happens mostly when it's been idle for some time.

I'm guessing it's something to do with the power management? Also maybe a recent update has upset some setting or something...

Got a list of Vaio updates to attend to but I'm not sure if I want any of them? The thing works so only win 7 updates please, ideally.

Just getting round to looking into this. Yes my keyboard is set to wake up the computer. It's been really bad lately at losing the connection while I am typing, or entering multiple characters. I have it through a 4 way splitter, and three of the connections are used, other one is for my mouse and the last one is for my ext HD. This is always connected and the problem still persists when it's not connected. I've had trouble with splitters before, but thisone has worked fine up until recently, and it's a passive device so I can't see that developing a problem really.

Let me see if I understand your hook up.
1. Splitter install in usb port
2. Hard drive cable plugged into splitter
3. Mouse cable plugged into splitter
4. Keyboard ID transceiver plugged into splitter.
Is this correct?
Does you laptop have more than one usp port?

Are the keyboard and mouse a matched set? The reason I ask is a matched set will have one ID transceiver for both matched keyboard and mouse. Their/there for less power requirements. Of course good quality charged batteries in mouse and keyboard will be required.
Does the splitter have it's own power source other than the usb port?
Does this happen when the laptop is on battery power or plugged in to wall outlet?

2 usb 3.0, 1 usb 2.0 connected to the splitter, both the keyboard and the mouse are logitech, both powered directly from USB via cable. Splitter is passive, I thought or powered via USB. Do they need power? Keyboard seems to disconnect/connect when it's been idle and I stand up, say, disturbing it somehow, but not by pressing keys. Sounds like maybe a loose connection, cables and connections all seem intact though.

A usb port has only so many volts and amps. If what you are plugging into it exceeds those abilities all kinds of funny things happen. Your 3.0 port would be worth a try.

Thanks guys. I still haven't gotten round to looking into this properly, but anyway I recently picked up a new keyboard that was on sale, another logitech, and the problem seems to have gone away. I'm not sure if the problem was with the drivers or the actual keyboard as it seemed to disconnect whenever I stood up and moved it slightly. My other theory is built in obsolescence.
