Long time boot because of battery?

Hello,

Since the last few weeks, my computer was not able to start properly. When i press the start button, my hp laptop just gets stuck at the white HP logo screen. If i get lucky it gets pass the logo in around 15min then start up normally.
It seems that there is something wrong with the power. When i start my laptop with only the battery, it seems that this situation occurs more often and when i plug in the AC adapter (and wait for a few minutes) it starts up normally. HOWEVER, today, it did not work. I restarted my computer around 5 times with ONLY the AC adapter and finally got through the process.

It seems that the hard drive is not working during the startup. When i had the option to use startup repair or boot windows normally, it took around 20 seconds for the computer to respond when i chose it.

I Really want to solve this problem, i want to bring my laptop out of my home without my AC adapter.

I've seen something similar when the dvd drive is funky. Pop it out and give it another try.

If that doesn't help, enlist the help of a friend's computer and download the offline Seatools iso. Burn it to cd and boot up with it on your laptop and do all the tests that are not destructive.

you could try removing the ACPI driver and the AC adapter driver under Batteries in the device manager. sometimes those drivers are screwy, but it may help if its a power issue.

making sure your system is free of dust by cleaning it with a dust off can would be a good idea as well.

disconnecting all devices from the computer and disabling legacy usb in the bios could help with this type of issue

running a clean start up could help as well

Perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your game or program

just a few suggestions i can think of that helped me in the past with issues like this one.

P.S. one other thing. if you'r always getting stuck at the onscreen logo, you may want to disable it in the bios so you can see what the bios is stuck at when it is turning on. for instance, if it is getting stuck while detecting usb devices, you may have a defective usb device (even a mouse) connected. or if it is searching for dvd devices, or hard disks, you may have a defective or damaged dvd drive or dvd or cd or hard disk. even an sd card could cause this

I have searched furthermore on the internet about my problem and i found the solution.
I am pretty sure the problem is going to comeback (this problems happens really randomly, around every 3 weeks, but never lasted 2 weeks like this time).
It is related to the c drive. I saw a post about doing a scheduled error check on the c drive. I did that and it seems now to be working fine.

But i still wonder what could the problem be?

If your C drive really needs to be error checked repeatedly it could mean the drive is failing. You should run Seatools as pscowboy suggested.
