I'm back with yet another question! I am looking to upgrade to a gtx 770 after a fail SLI attempt of the gtx 660 (motherboard could not handle it) and I would rather just stick with a single GPU. I'm looking at the gtx 700 by evga both Super Clocked. But I'm having trouble deciding and figuring out why is one more expensive then the other. I'm looking at Amazon.com: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 Superclocked 2GB GDDR5 256bit, Dual-Link DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI,DP, SLI Ready Graphics Card (02G-P4-3771-KR): Computers & Accessories and also this one Amazon.com: EVGA GeForce GTX770 SuperClocked with EVGA ACX Cooler, 2GB GDDR5 256bit, DL DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI, DP, SLI Ready Graphics Cards (02G-P4-2774-KR): Computers & Accessories I can see the second one has a different design, cost less, and is clocked slightly faster then the first one. The first link card looks cooler, slightly slower, but still looks awesome. Any feed back would be great to point me in the right direction of choosing the better card! Thanks!

Whoops knew I forgot something Sorry!!
Here are my system specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5-3750k 3.5ghz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 660
PSU: Corsair CX750 Plus Bronze Power Supply
RAM: 8gb g-skill ripjaw
Motherboard: Asus P8 Z77-VLX
Motherboard was not compatible with SLI only crossfire still gave it a go just to see what would happen and it only would recognize one gtx 660 but both were working. So i just returned the bridge and the second gtx 660 for a refund no biggie.

That is a nice rig you have there. The single card 770 option will work well for you. I went with the acx because I think the fan design is better. As the 770's are somewhat new I am sure someone else will come along to offer more advice, I have a 660 so can not say for sure.

From what others have been saying in another forum i use the stock cooler is better. If you're pc is on a test bench the go for the aftermarket cooler. If it's in a case go with the stock cooler that exhausts hot air out through the pcie slots. I know of some people who have kept the stock cooler on instead of fitting the water blocks they'd already bought as they perform so well.

I love all the choices you presented thank you so much! I'm going to go with the evga with acx cooling. Always had a evga card and have not been disappointed yet!

What was the 660 deficient at?

I was thinking 7970 at that price point, my 7950 I paid $400 for about a year ago has had nothing give it trouble.

OP can then crossfire 2 later then, perhaps.
