Hello All,

We have a Dell in the office that suddenly will not stay connected to the internet, either wired or wirelessly. It connects for about 2 minutes, and the I get "page cannot be displayed" message. Wirelessly it shows as connected to wifi router, but again the access disappears after a couple of minutes. I have run multi-anti virus scans, Malware Bytes, AVG, Microsoft etc. I see nothing.

The PC is connected to an office server, and there is no issues accessing it.

I have tried to reset the Winsock. I have tried turning off the Windows Firewall. I Installed a newer version of AVG (old one couldn't be removed - removal requires internet access!). No sure what to try next.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I would say try to reset the actual internet connection. Unplug it and wait about a minute; then plug it back and and let it reboot. If you have a modem and router; reboot those if you have those and try connecting again.

Hi matts6887,

Thanks for your reply. I tried resetting both the router and the modem more than once. Don't forget I am also having problems with the wifi connection as well. This is a borrowed signal from our next door office neighbor. While they were gracious about giving their password, I don't want to start asking them to reset things.
