Lose Internet connection when I open a folder

I've been experiencing this issue for awhile now and haven't found a rhyme or reason for it occurring, but whenever I open a folder my internet connection will stop and go to limited access. I don't really know what information I can give that can give hint to the problem, but some suggestions would be great.

What type of internet connection do you have?. For example, is it through a wifi set up, ADSL, wireless broadband, high speed cable, etc..
Does opening any particular folder cause this problem, or is the folder associated with a particular website that you are visiting.

I use wireless adapter that came with my mobo, ASUS M2n32L deluxe , it seems to be when I open a folder on my desktop or My Computer
