Hi all:
I created a text Doc { Notepad } within Win 7 { 7048} , after i was finished i wanted to save it , so i directed to My Documents , in there was only My Vids - Pics - Music so i saved it to My Document.
I then created a folder in My Documents called My Docs , then i used Explore to Open Folders , i found the Notepad File and went to drag And Drop it in My Docs , and missed the folder ?.? Anyway i thought no probs just do a search ? Well that doesnt find it , and thats searching all of C:/.
So where did it go , if i can do this how many others may do the same , as the structure of c:/ exploring shows multiple folders some accessible and the usual popup you dont have rights etc etc.
Yes i did have show all hidden etc , as i have allways done with xp , yet Vista and Win 7 seem to be a nightmare or am i in for a new Learning Curve again.
I thought these were the Bees Knees of Upgrading an OS from XP.
Xp is easy , and i repair them daily , and easy to clean junk and viruses etc , and navigate anywhere and delete anything , so if im struggling what about all new pcs preloaded ?? , Or is it just me

Hello Jeppo, and welcome to Seven Forums.

By default Windows 7 uses the search index to search for files. The index most lilkely has not finished updating itself to include that file yet. You can rebuild the index to force it to update now, or set your search setting to the same as in thistutorial to do a non-index search for the file to find it.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
