I used Macrium Reflect to re-image my HP 8530p notebook with windows 7 32-bit. the image went through and completed fine but after when the computer restarted it crashed, then at the next restart i was prompted to go into start up mode because if windows started normally it kept crashing. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? All help and suggestions are appreciated.

thank you

Not sure what your issue is, do you have any more specific details about the error? Do you have a system restore point that you can use instead? What stage of the boot process is it crashing at? Was Windows 7 already installed when you set up Macrium?

I've recently started using Macrium on a bunch of the PCs in my office, so I'd be very interested to find out what the cause of your issue is.

@mjm6783 I have a bunch of the same model HP laptops and i am re-imaging them all with windows 7 32-bit. I installed win7 on one of the laptop then installed macrium to get an image from that laptop to use to re-image all the others. at first i had no problems and the first 5 or 6 computers were re-imaged fine with out any startup problems, but now all of a sudden the same image i was using is giving some laptops start up problems. After the image is done, the laptop shows the starting windows screen and then the screen flashes blue with a bunch of words, and shuts off.

To help what is needed is:
1) A disk management screenshot (or detailed partition description) of the PC imaged.
2) What was imaged with Macrium
3) What was restored and what options were selected.

Macrium assumes you know the roles of the MBR and the system reserved/active partition in the booting process.
Your problem may be as simple as missing a restore step in the booting process.

Provided Windows imaging works for you, it takes care of this detail for you.

Ouch, I had a similar problem using a Linux multiboot to restore images onto some HP compaqs that were downgraded to an XP operating system. It worked the first few times, and then started freezing during the restore process and destroying the OS. Full recovery was my only option. I had to restore to factory settings before I could even try to re-image.

Can you interrupt the boot process with a restore CD or a bootable thumb drive? Are you BSoD after the freeze or is it some other kind of error? I would also try to create a new image using one of the working PCs. It's not likely, but it is possible that the image was somehow corrupted.
