I have never had a problem with Windows inbuilt imaging and found it straightforward but is is quite limiting (eg. you cannot image restore to a smaller drive, it has no compression, it has a limiting file/folder naming system). There are many posts on this forum where users have had issues and did not find it "idiot proof".
Given a choice Macrium wins hands down and I have found the free version (V5 & V6) has met all my requirements.
